Fruitcake Shortage

The Manitou Springs Great Fruitcake Toss, scheduled for this Saturday, January 9, is running into a snag no one could predict. Believe it or not, they are running short of fruitcake. Seriously? A fruitcake shortage? This is the thing The Great Fruitcake Recycling Project dreams of. We look forward to worldwide fruitcake scarcity it our lifetime.

Fruitcake Toss

I’ve mentioned the Manitou Springs Great Fruitcake Toss before. It’s a fabulous event held in January of each year, to treat the fruitcake with the respect it so rightly deserves.

Find out more about this event. I’ll be there.

Possibly the best use for fruitcake

The city of Manitou Springs, Colorado has an annual fruitcake toss in January. Each year thousands of people enter the event to food for the charity while treating fruitcake with the respect it deserves. Thankfully, the food that is collected is not the fruitcakes, because that would be cruel.

Events include the fruitcake toss, the fruitcake launch, pneumatic gun or canon, catch the fruitcake,”  and accuracy with targets.

The next Fruitcake Toss is Saturday, January 9, 2010. Read more about this event on their website: http://www.manitousprings.org

I hope they have the decency to recycle them all when they’re finished.
